The meeting was called to order by Barbara Carroll

Opening Remarks

Barbara Carroll began the meeting with a recommended agenda change to move Item F, Open Floor, after Rollcall.

F. Open Floor

Introduction of Chief James Lewis. Chief Lewis spoke about his background in policing and his experience with complaint review and discipline. There was Q&A with the CRB members.

Introduction of Sergeant Steven Woznyk of the Yale Police Department. Sergeant Woznyk gave an overview of the Yale complaint process. There was Q&A with the CRB members


B. Approval of Agenda

A motion to approve the agenda was made by Robert Spirito; seconded by Catherine Gootkin; approved unanimously.


C. Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Robert Spirito to table approval of the July 10, 2008 minutes; seconded by Maureen O'Sullivan; approved unanimously.


D. Coordinator's Remarks

A motion to accept the July and August Coordinator's Reports was made by Ann Tramontana; seconded by Reverend Walter Johnson; approved unanimously.


E. Internal Affairs Remarks

Captain Joann Peterson reported the case number assignment is at 118. There was a Q&A with the CRB members.

I. New Business

Jane Mills, of the Beaver Hill Management Team, announced her resignation from the Civilian Review Board and distributed a letter of resignation dated August 13, 2008 effective at the conclusion of today's meeting (8/14/08).
